One of the biggest jewelry industry trade shows, hosted by JCK Magazine, is held in Las Vegas every year. Our buyers headed to JCK for this year’s show and they came back with a lot of new pieces, a couple of new lines & companies (to add to our growing catalog), and fresh perspective of new jewelry trends – much to the excitement of everyone on staff here at Josephs!
We’re looking forward to bringing the new pieces and trends to you, and here are our findings.
JCK Jewelry trends:
From the jewelry trend front, we saw a lot of geometric shapes with interesting negative spaces. These geometric shapes lend themselves well to every day pieces, with necklaces that can be layered and rings that can be stacked. We saw a lot of these styles in bangles, necklaces and rings. For earring styles specifically, there were many different dangle and stud earrings.
As for colors, we saw a lot of blues, pinks and purples as well as soft greens. Pieces with clusters of stones and many colors were also big. Popular stones included opal, moonstone, labradorite, emerald and pearls.
Not only did we see color in the stone selection, but also in metal color – yellow gold as a metal of choice is coming back in a big way. We saw a lot of yellow gold pieces in fashion jewelry, more two-tone designs in bridal and also seeing hints of rose gold everywhere. For bridal styles we continue to see halos, twist designs and vintage-inspired pieces.
JCK Favorite designers & pieces from the show:
Another fun part of the show is meeting new designers as well as catching up with familiar favorites. We always love seeing Sydney Lynch and her line of sterling silver mixed with high karat gold. Her pieces are always edgy and one-of-a-kind, with some amazing stone & color combinations. She’s also from the Midwest…even better!
A new designer that our buyers loved meeting from the show were the sisters from Dao Fournier. They have some really unique & beautiful designs and have an interesting background. We weren’t able to pick any pieces for the store just yet, but it was great to meet them and to admire their amazing pieces.
Types of pieces to expect to see at Josephs for the upcoming year:
When we think of the new lines and gemstones we’ve picked up since the show, the first thing that comes to mind is “one-of-a-kind.” We picked up new pieces from current lines, new lines entirely and some pretty spectacular loose gemstones that we are itching to get mounted. You can find a lot of the new trends in our cases too, with plenty of geometric shapes and yellow gold fashion pieces to go around. We’re excited for everything new that has been hitting our cases so far and are looking forward to sharing them with you!
