Unlike some metals, pewter doesn't tarnish, so you will not need to clean it all that often. Pewter is a metal blend consisting primarily of tin but frequently has small amounts of antimony and copper which adds strength and/or color. Handling pewter gives it a distinctive patina. Hand-washing it in mild soap and water will allow it to retain its beautiful luster for many years.
